Balustrade glass

Balustrade glass is being fitted internally and externally in a lot of current developments. With the use of glass, the appearance of frameless and clear barriers can be created, whether this is to external balcony or walkway areas, or internal staircase and landing areas. Glass can either be glazed to clamp fittings, which come in a range of styles and finishes or from a base clamped system. Clamp fittings can be used to utilise existing timber or plastered surround openings, creating a clear barrier to existing areas. The base clamped system, is produced with a large floor channel, which is fixed directly to the floor, and a series of clamps, which located in the floor channel, clamp onto the glass, holding it in place. This gives the appearance of the glass just coming out of the ground, with no visible perimeter fixings.

Shower screens and doors

Bathrooms are using glass more and more, with the introduction of glass shower screens and doors. Screens are most commonly fitted to channels, which are fitted directly to walls or floors. The glass is then silicone glazed to these channels, giving the shower screen the appearance of being frameless, yet securely glazed in discreet channels. Doors are normally hinged to walls, or adjacent glass panels, using hinges which come in a range of finishes. All shower screens and doors are bespoke, so are made to measure for the bathrooms they are being installed. Upon request a surveyor will attend a customer’s premises, to run through the best location and set up of any glass shower system.
