Screens and doors

Due to its light and clear properties, glass is being used more and more to create screens and doors in premises. Floor to ceiling partitioning and glass entrance doors can be installed to create a light and professional atmosphere, as well as to divide up large areas with minimum reduction of space.

At B&M Glazing in Harrow, we can offer a supply only or supply and fix service on the complete range of fire resisting glasses, and suitable fire rated glazing systems (mastics, tapes, gaskets etc), whether they be for integrity only or integrity and insulation fire resisting requirements.

Our product range covers toughened and laminated safety glass. Toughened safety glass comes in a range of sizes from 4mm thick to 19mm thick. Any of these thicknesses can have polished edges. For quick turnaround, laminated safety glass is kept in stock, and ranges in size from 6.4mm to 12.8mm. Some thicknesses of laminated safety glass are offered in a range of colours and finishes such as white opaque, bronze or grey tinted, and frosted patterned obscured. Our new range of coloured interlayer laminated glass can be used to provide a colourful and modern look in design layouts, with a range of coloured interlayer films that can be used to tint the glass, or colour and obscure the glass. If the area it is being used in needs to be obscured for privacy reasons, then the use of an opaque interlayer can achieve this. These types of glass can look especially good when used with back lighting, as it tends to make the colour stand out more.

Acoustic laminates

Moving with current demands for more sound efficient types of glass, acoustic laminated glass is becoming more widely used on a number of projects. This comes in a range of thicknesses from 6.8mm thick to 16.8mm thick, each type reducing the amount of sound that passes through the glass. Because this is a laminated glass, it is still safety rated, due to its laminated properties. This means it can be used in commercial buildings, such as schools and hospitals.

Sliding glass doors

Sliding glass door systems are available form ourselves, which can include all fittings to ensure smooth operation. Full size sliding doors are often used to create light and transparent barriers between rooms. There are also smaller systems available for such areas as desk tops, and cabinets. These comprise running tracks to top and bottoms, with the glass doors running on top of these tracks. All doors can be provided with locks, to ensure doors cannot be slid open, when locked shut.

Filming works

In addition to all the above glass products, we offer onsite film works that cover manifestation to doors and screens, solar control films and vinyl designs. Security films and black out filming is also available, whilst clients own logos or artwork can be produced in a variety of films. For colourful and bright applications of film, various colours and designs of film are available, that can transform an area, without decorating of replacement of existing glass.
